Like cankerworms, They have eaten the womb of the nation, They promised happiness in various forms, At the end we are left with damnation, How then can youths fashion the future? Living here is a certain kind of torture. This is no place else but Nigeria, Where the motto says peace and unity, But division, negativity and tribalism is the main criteria, To eat, live and serve any office community, Fulani herdsmen are above the law and he knows why, The man who only keeps count of how many times we cry. Living in Nigeria alone is a way to die, Yet we walk by each other like we have nothing to say, But you must die as well as I, So why can't we fight for the same thing in every way? We got to face up our fears and look to ourselves, Only then does it make sense to pray and try to make amends. One of us may have the last say, Words like a dagger, We try to hurt each other There’s no other way until one surrender, We’ve been like this for days, We’ve been like this for days eh You wanna say your goodbye with a smile on your face, I thought it was just usual, You’d be gone just for a little while I didn’t see it coming, Won’t believe if someone told me that I’d be waiting for years, Waiting for years eh eh (Chorus) Even though we near, Like I’m far away, far far far away Can you hear me, Can you hear me, let’s go back to the beginning One of us must have the last say, I’m writing you this letter hoping we can make things clearer Over shouting, we forget to hear each other And I miss you for days, in so many ways eh eh eh ...
A Crying Country See the land our forefathers suffered for and freed, Giving birth to thorns and injustice, Peace and unity indeed, There ain't no justice, just us. The youths are not the leaders of tomorrow, I believe everyone is in consensus with that now, All I see in tomorrow is a constant cloud of sorrow, That paints itself black to imitate her brow. I see only one hope for Nigeria, a land of honey, Where all tribes, religion and beliefs, Desiring neither power or money, But only the good of her mother land to offer solace and relief. -Saefhenry Osas
