FREEDOM CREATES PROSPERITY

 Freedom creates prosperity. It unleashes human talent, invention and innovation, creating wealth where none existed before.

Freedom according to the encyclopedia of the Marxists, ‘’is the capacity of people to determine their own actions, in a community which is able to provide for the full development of human potentiality. Freedom can be enjoyed by individuals but only in and through the community’’.

George Washington says ‘’when liberty begins to take root; it’s a plant of rapid growth’’.

These are just few quotes amongst others that elucidates that when a man is free, he is responsible for his own life and what he becomes, He would be able to think straight, think well, think wide and diversify in all ramifications. I emphasize on the sentence ‘’He would be able to think straight, think well, think wide and diversify in all ramifications’’ let’s call it the three t’s (3t’s) and so if a man possesses the 3t’s then he opens a road to a successful life and pave way for prosperity. A man who is not free or enslaved cannot diversify in his thinking abilities and imagination, all he would think of is how to escape from his bondage or perhaps misery.

Freedom breeds innovation and value. When a man is free to do whatever he likes as far as it is not against the law, then it is possible to place a value on such a person. If prosperity can be measured, then the measure of a man’s real prosperity is what he would do when he is free. I mean in a world of freedom where no one is willing to make progressive actions and ideas for the benefit of all that is in the community, state or nation as a whole, then the very few people who can think well, straight and wide would be able to produce, invent, strategies and would of course get their social and economic reward. These people would of course earn for themselves superior positions than their fellow counter parts or colleagues, mind you, in today’s world, those in superior positions tends to earn more financially and this also paves way for prosperity so it is so right to say that freedom unleashes inventions and innovations where none existed before.

 In this paragraph, freedom and bondage would be over emphasized. Freedom can come in any form. When people are free to speak and act without hindrances, then they can use the resource gotten as a result of freedom to acquire prosperity. We all need to understand the fact that we can never prosper if we are in bondage. I mean a person working in an organization and don’t have the freedom to speak, act etc will either want to change jobs or use his salaries or wages to start up something of his own where he can decide and get things done just the way he/she wants it and that is freedom. One can earn big but hate his job which of course is bondage and the other can earn little and love his job which is freedom. Even biblically, when one is in bondage that person will not, cannot and can never prosper but when one is free prosperity is certain.

Furthermore, the freedom people gain is as a result of the society that they belong to which can be traced back to the economic relations that the society is centered upon. In other words, Freedom in a capitalist society is quite different from freedom in a socialist society but both can be combined to determine freedom in a mixed society. A capitalist society is one in which the means of production and distribution of wealth and income, goods and services lies in the hands of private individuals. Suffice to say that in this case, it is very much possible for one to exploit wages and salaries (employers) but those that supplies labor (laborers) are in bondage as to what they need like good hospitals, sound educational system, non contaminated water and so on but are free in the aspect or areas they have paid for. While a socialist society is one in which the means of production and distribution of wealth and income, goods and services lies in the hands of the government. That is to say that in this case, employers of labor are not free to exploit wages and salaries (bondage) but are free to own more or own less of good educational system, good water etc in the aspect or areas they need or have paid for.
