Shades of Red
When we finally met I tried to read your mind,
Hoping to for once leave sad shows behind,
All I got was shades of red,
Nothing but darkness overhead,
Different colors with many feelings,
Maybe I can help you by leaving.
From hate to love to trust to revenge,
So intense you might hurt me in the end,
I warned myself this was going to happen,
Like the sound of one hand clapping,
Your face disguises to hide thy true color,
Hateful shady young rebellious lover.
Sorry won't make up for not been there,
My apologies won't describe how much I care,
When your eyes turned red I looked away,
As with your feelings I did play,
Pretended you weren't there when I last saw your face,
When you needed me most I left without a trace.
How do I explain I did it all for you?
I sacrificed my life please tell me what to do,
Did it all to keep you safe,
Watched you behind walls and let it chafe,
I guess I will never be happy,
Knowing you may never forgive me.
One day you sure will understand,
Hopefully before I die in this blind bitter land,
Farewell my child and do find peace,
My feeble heart in 4 months will cease,
Will love thee still even on my dying bed,
Until then I hope you free thy heart from it's shades of red.
